Turning Point is deeply saddened to share the passing of Kevin F. Carroll,
a valued former board member and avid supporter of Turning Point for many
years. With a long career on Wall Street, retiring as CEO of Gintelco,
a financial service firm in Manhattan, Mr. Carroll brought a wealth of
knowledge and leadership that helped Turning Point grow to become the
institution it is today.
Mr. Carroll passionately championed the mission of Turning Point and generously
supported the organization in various capacities. He deeply cared about
the clients Turning Point serves. A regular presence, he facilitated several
discussion groups for Turning Point clients where he shared his personal
experience of having a loved one struggling with addiction and motivated
them to continue to strive for a life of sobriety.
Mr. Carroll and his wife Bonnie didn't just support Turning Point over
the past several years, but they inspired others to do so as well. They
created the KJ Carroll Fund in honor of their late son, Kevin (KJ), who
dreamed of becoming a counselor and helping others break the devastating
cycle of addiction. The Carrolls also established a rooftop sanctuary
for clients, a place of peace and tranquility, in memory of KJ Carroll.
With his generosity, support, and leadership, Mr. Carroll leaves a powerful
legacy. His impact will touch the thousands of lives of the men and women
Turning Point serves each year.
