Turning Point Expands Services

July 10, 2014

Turning point expands services--adds halfway house program for women Paterson, NJ--Turning Point, Inc., an addiction treatment program announced a merger with Anderson House, a halfway house and transitional housing program for women in Hunterdon County. The merger will effectively add halfway and transitional housing services to Turning Point’s detox, residential, and outpatient programs.

“This union will increase our ability to help people achieve long-term recovery. By including halfway house services with our detox, residential, and outpatient programs, we can provide uninterrupted and comprehensive care along a continuum that result in better outcomes for the individuals and families we serve,” says Turning Point CEO, Dr. Manuel Guantez. Anderson House will be operating as a program of Turning Point, Inc., which will add to the array of services they currently provide in Paterson, Verona, and Paramus, NJ.

“This alliance was born from a need to be able to meet current and future challenges in our industry, continue to take advantage of growing opportunities, and enhance our ability to serve the women that come to our doors for years to come, so this is truly exciting news,” says Anderson House Executive Director, Jan Holmstrup. Since opening in 1995, Anderson House has changed the lives of over 760 women, helping them break the cycle of addiction, reunite with their families and create promising futures. Anderson House, a longer-term residential treatment program, is dedicated to providing quality treatment and supporting women as they develop the necessary goals and life skills to return to the community as responsible, sober and productive individuals. With the merged organization, Turning Point becomes one of the very few addiction treatment centers in the state to provide a full continuum of care for women—from detox to transitional housing.

Each year, Turning Point treats more than 2,700 men and women for their alcohol and drug addiction at its state-of-the-art facility in northeastern New Jersey. The agency offers a full range of services intended to treat addiction with compassion and clinical excellence.
