Our Mission & Vision

At Turning Point, our mission and our vision are simple. We strive to provide care for individuals facing alcoholism and drug dependency, along with those battling co-occurring mental health disorders. Our mission is to lessen the stigma that is all too often associated with these battles. We seek to provide resources and help for the underprivileged and underserved in our community.

Our History

At the time our program was founded, addiction sufferers who were unable to afford private residential treatment were forced to travel as far as upstate New York for detoxification / rehabilitation services at Graymoor. Our founders established a 10-bed residential program for men in Cedar Grove on March 17, 1975.

Turning Point began in 1975 in response to a direct need in our community.

As the needs of our patients evolved, our programs expanded and adapted in response. Below are listed some of the treatments now offered at Turning Point. Our program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and has received special commendation from CARF for our above-and-beyond efforts to fight for patients and to reduce the stigma related with addictions and co-occurring disorders.
