What Is a Halfway House?
A halfway house is a residential program where individuals re-entering
society can readjust to normal life in a safe setting that facilitates
their unique needs. The Anderson House halfway house program is such a
place for women with a history of relapse including women with co-occurring
substance use and mental health disorders.
Turning Point is committed to helping our patients turn their lives around.
For some, this may involve a stay at our Halfway House, where a clinical
team provides comprehensive, compassionate care including individualized
counseling, family counseling, comprehensive case management and life
skills education in an attractive, nurturing environment. Clients access
needed medical, dental and specialized psychiatric care, obtain full-time
jobs, build a sober support network and learn how to live a sober, productive
and responsible life.
Our goal is to provide effective treatment for alcoholism and drug dependency,
equipping patients with the tools they need to turn their lives around.
Our Approach at Turning Point
We help our patients cope with their addictions and develop the tools necessary
to navigate daily life. We do not view patients as interchangeable, but
rather as unique individuals with unique needs. Our program emphasizes
dignity, respect, and compassion for all of our patients, in all of our dealings.
We look at patients holistically, creating care plans based on all of their
- Physical needs
- Psychological needs
- Social needs
- Spiritual needs
Our counselors and medical staff are highly trained professionals, experienced
and certified in their fields. We retain both recovering and non-recovering
individuals on our staff, creating a balance we believe is important for
our patients in terms of perspective and quality service.
