Abigail Prommel, a Verona native who currently resides in Caldwell, has been selected “Employee of the Year” at Turning Point by a vote of her co-workers. Abigail, who joined Turning Point as an intern eight years ago, now serves as Outpatient Counselor for the agency.
“Turning Point is the birthplace of my career as a counselor. I chose it because I really like and respect the people who work here. That’s why it’s so meaningful to have my co-workers honor me in this way,” Abigail said.
She received a plaque commemorating the honor from Dr. Manuel Guantez, Executive Director, who said, “Abigail has always been committed to the work that we do and has exemplified our mission, vision and values in so many ways.” She has cross-trained in many different departments and has supported these departments as needed, especially during transitional periods for Turning Point. Most recently, she has been instrumental in developing the Verona Outpatient Program. According to Dr. Guantez, “Abigail is truly an asset to our organization!”
Turning Point has treated more than 35,000 clients from around the state since it opened in 1975. The agency provides effective and compassionate treatment for alcoholism, drug addiction and related mental health issues regardless of a client’s ability to pay. Turning Point was recognized as a model program in 2003 when the White House announced its nationwide Access to Recovery Treatment Initiative from a Turning Point treatment site. It is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
