As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, our goal at Turning Point is twofold. We strive to help our patients cope with drug and alcohol addictions, and we also work to help them develop the necessary tools and coping mechanisms required to manage the difficulties and daily challenges of life. We provide care in a supportive treatment environment where they will benefit from structured routines and individual care plans.
Our mission is to provide compassionate treatment for substance use and their co-occurring disorders. We seek to reduce the stigma associated with addiction and mental illness. Our priority is to treat all those who seek our help.
To be the provider of choice of Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Turning Point began when its founders opened a 10-bed residential program for men on March 17, 1975, in Cedar Grove. Over the years, we have grown, expanded, and evolved to meet the needs of our patients.
Our core desire to remain respectful to the needs of our patients, providing treatment for each individual with dignity and compassion, has not changed.
In 2003, the agency’s accomplishments were recognized when Turning Point was selected by the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence of New Jersey and the White House’s National Office on Demand Reduction as the “model treatment program” to launch President Bush’s faith-based initiative. Our New Jersey alcohol & drug addiction treatment facility is accredited and commended by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
